In 2007, I graduated from college and thought I was going to follow the path of finance. Little did I know i'd meet an alumni from my school and end up working for a mobile software company doing implementation consulting.
I wanted more freedom and to learn about marketing but there were no open slots for me.
So in 2008, I started a blog called Home Design Find. Collected some amazing pieces featuring international designers from Japan and Italy. Figured out how to sell advertising sponsorship and how to differentiate from the other design blogs out there.
Sold HDF in 2010 for $20k and thought I was a millionaire. Quit my job and was off to the races. Figured if I could do it in one niche let me try in 10 others. Wow, I was foolish to think that would be each.
In 2011, Flash sale ecommerce site were growing like crazy. My future co-founder was looking for marketing talent. Didn't know what I was doing but figured how hard could it be. The team build and grew channels from early Facebook advertising, social media, invite referral system. Learned how to work with developers as a product leader.
In 2015, After many lessons learned decided retail was broken and needed a change. Started Hingeto with 2 other partners to begin my startup journey.
